Theradome Inc., a Silicon Valley based medical device company, received FDA clearance to market its proprietary LH80 PRO hair restoration device to men.

Around 50% of men will experience noticeable hair loss by the time they reach 40 due to androgenic alopecia. This is  particularly distressing in cases of younger men when hair thinning can become noticeable as young as 18.

Consultant Trichologist, Sally-Ann Tarver from the Cotswold Trichology Centre says: “Realization that baldness may be imminent, particularly if there is a family history of it, often leads to a frantic search for the cure by young men. We see men of all ages at our clinic, some seek help as soon as they are aware of it, and others leave it rather too late.

Unfortunately once hair is gone, hair loss treatments of any kind are unlikely to produce a satisfactory degree of hair growth.”

“We have already been using Theradome® for male hair loss treatment at our clinic. Laser phototherapy lacks side effects and is extremely easy to use. It has become our primary recommendation as a stand alone treatment for the first stages of male hair thinning and as a combined treatment in cases of more advanced hair thinning or following a hair transplant. We are really pleased that Theradome® now has it’s FDA clearance for male hair loss as this will give our male patients more confidence in using it.”

The Theradome® LH80 PRO Laser Helmet uses Laser Phototherapy (also known as Low-Level Laser Light Therapy) to stimulate weak hair follicles and provide them with targeted laser energy. This increases microcirculation bringing nutrients and oxygen to stimulate hair growth and to stop or slow hair loss. Laser phototherapy also stimulates Keratin production leading to better quality hair and thicker strands.

Founder and CEO of Theradome®, Tamim Hamid who had struggled with hair loss since he was thirty-two years old says: “I tried a variety of hair restoration medications and did not have any luck. After endless attempts to try to regain my hair, I decided to combine my experience as a NASA scientist along with my doctoral work in biomedical engineering, to create a solution that actually worked. We are pleased that we can help the millions of men around the globe who suffer from hair loss. This new level of clearance grants a broader audience access to an effective, less- expensive therapy that can be used in the comfort of their home”.

Previously only available to women, men now have the opportunity to benefit from the Theradome® LH80 PRO with the clearance from the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Traditionally, laser phototherapy for hair growth in men has only been available through clinics at a cost of thousands of pounds. Non-clinical, less expensive options, not only provide less therapeutic light, but in many cases, the FDA has not cleared them. Unlike other devices on the market, the Theradome laser helmets feature custom laser technology developed for optimal wavelength and light delivery light delivery for hair restoration. For optimum results the Theradome® LH80 PRO should be worn for 20 minutes, two-four times a week.

Now, both men and women are able to take advantage of the world’s most advanced laser hair restoration system – the LH80 PRO.
