Ellman International, Inc. has announced that Robert E. Grove, PhD, has been appointed to its Board of Directors. Ellman is a global leader in aesthetic, multi-specialty surgical, dental and veterinary markets with advanced radiofrequency (RF) and laser products for precision surgical and aesthetic procedures.
Dr Grove is an experienced business executive and serial entrepreneur with over 30 years in the medical laser industry and co-founder of seven companies in this field.
‘Ellman is well positioned for continued growth in the RF surgical and light energy aesthetic arena through its strong worldwide sales channels and focus on product development. I look forward to engaging with the Board and management team to help the company launch these new products and take the company to the next level,’ he said.
Grove currently serves as chairman of ON Light Sciences, an early-stage company developing products for accelerated removal of tattoos and pigmented lesions. His credentials include co-founding Star Medical Technologies which became the market leader in diode laser systems for permanent hair reduction and serving as co-founder, CTO and CEO of TRIA Beauty, the world leader in light-based aesthetic devices for the consumer market.
Grove has served on the Board of Directors of the American Society for Lasers in Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS) as the Industrial/Research and Development Representative. He has authored a number of scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals and holds 11 US patents in the field of medical lasers and applications.
