PRIME previews the Dermatologic & Aesthetic Surgery International League annual conference, taking place in Buenos Aires, Argentina on October 31–November 3, 2018

THE SEVENTH EDITION OF the Dermatologic & Aesthetic Surgical International League (DASIL) conference is primed to take place in the great city of Buenos Aires, Argentina, and everyone is invited to attend and participate. DASIL is the most transparent international dermatologic surgical society in the world and is a true non-profit society.  The mission of the society is to teach and mentor dermatologists, plastic surgeons, and other cosmetic and surgical specialties in everything that is taught in dermatologic surgery.

DASIL has had amazing World Congress’s in the past — in Malta, Bangkok, Sun City (South Africa), Ho Chi Minh City, Dubai, and Shanghai. Now we are taking the DASIL family to Buenos Aires, one of the most vibrant cities in all of South America. We anticipate having over 1000 delegates from more than 40 countries from all over the world. This is a meeting that you don’t want to miss.

DASIL is not your typical dermatologic surgical society. It is entirely non-profit, and to that end, none of the members of DASIL profit financially from the meetings that we have.  DASIL has an organizational structure that is strong and unique for organizations with a very active Executive Board, Board of Directors, and Committee Task Forces. DASIL also has ANAS, the Assembly of National Affiliated Societies, where interested societies from around the world work together to foster dermatologic surgery in their own country. The organizational set-up of DASIL is spear-headed by our fabulous CEO, Dr. Lawrence Rosenthal, formerly Executive Director of both the AAD and the ASDS. DASIL also has a partnership arrangement with the ASDS and works closely with them in all of their international endeavors.

DASIL’s President, Dr. Suneel Chilukuri, of Houston, Texas, is working with his teams to ensure that DASIL is a strong force in our specialty. He works tirelessly to ensure that DASIL initiatives are carried out and spread to all corners of the world.  We are proud to be this incredible and open society that has garnered an excellent reputation in such a short period of time.

So now we head to Buenos Aires, Argentina where we will hold our 7th World Congress.  The Congress President, Dr. Guillermo Blugerman, is one of the world’s foremost plastic surgeons. He and his team will be presiding over the meeting. What is in store for those that attend? DASIL  will continue with its traditional full day of Workshops and Courses on the first day. Attendees will be able to participate in programs on Liposuction and Liposculpture, Hair Transplantation, Injectables for the Skin, Energy-Based Devices, Basic and Advanced Dermatologic Surgery, Scars and Scar Prevention, Needling, Feminine Rejuvenation, and an Advanced Reconstruction course.

Then, for the next 3 days, attendees will have four tracks available for them to follow or to move from one to the other.  We will delve deeper into the literature and science from the workshops mentioned above. There will be an extensive Cutaneous Oncology programme, as well as discussions on photodynamic therapy, chemical peels, vitiligo and new concepts with it. Also up for discussion will be acne, acne scars, devices to treat acne and what is new in cosmeceuticals.  There will be sessions on practice management and room for free communications as well.

Then there is the city of Buenos Aires and the surrounding areas. DASIL is also known for its social interaction, and we make everyone feel welcome at all of our events. In

Buenos Aires, you can learn how to do the Argentinian Tango and see all the special sites that await everyone. Daily tours will be available for those interested in learning more about the city, its people, and its culture. Once the meeting is over, many may opt for one of the exciting post-trips that are available to us.

DASIL is your international dermatologic surgical society.  It is formed by dermatologists and plastic surgeons interested in making a difference in today’s world. It is DASIL’s mission to bring the best of the best to all corners of the world.

You are invited to be part of DASIL. Come to DASIL’s 7th World Congress and learn from the brightest of minds, interact with global colleagues and have the time of your life in this enchanted city. See y
